Doris Jean (Schaefer) Scott passed away in Haxtun on March 3, 2024 at the age of 86.

Doris was born on Aug. 27, 1937 in Sterling to Ben and Martha (Brekel) Schaefer.

Doris graduated from Fleming High School in 1955. She received her nursing degree and became an RN in 1956. She married Wayne Scott on Aug. 24, 1957 in St. Peters.

After working as a nurse for a few years, Doris began her career in the Post Office in 1969. She was the Post Master of Holyoke when she retired in 1992. In 1994 Doris started her own vending business known as "Bubbles, Etc." She was crowned Mrs. Colorado in 1968. Doris...
