The Haxtun FBLA Chapter had a great showing at the Colorado FBLA State Conference. This year, 60 students competed at the conference. This included students in presentations, objective tests, production events and the Business Achievement Awards. Throughout the conference, students were able to explore the Gaylord Rockies Resort and attend various activities related to the conference.

Haxtun attended the opening general session on Monday night. Here, the chapter was recognized for their donation to the March of Dimes and the students that completed their Business Achievement Awards. The following students were recognized: Brock Miller, Maggie Kilgour, Bobbi Starkebaum, Kash Workman, Jaxsen Schram and Tessa Gales.

Tuesday was a busy day for Haxtun. Ten teams competed in the final round of presentations, while many other chapter members took their objective tests. A highlight for many of the students were the workshops offered throughout the day. Some of the most talked about workshops were related to internships, the Make-A-Wish foundation, and entrepreneurship. The kids were able to finish the day with chapter bonding at Top Golf.

The anticipation was high on Wednesday as students waited for the results of finals and their tests. We had several teams and individuals make the stage. In the end, we had 16 students qualify to attend the National Leadership Conference that will be held in Orlando this summer.

The following groups will move on: American Enterprise Project, Cassidy Goddard, Brock Miller and Grant Statz; Community Service Project, Brandon Nall, Alyssa Molde and Corbin Andersen; Local Chapter Annual Business Report, Mason Bornhoft, Seth Seger and Carter Lock; Partnership with Business, Megan Walker, Kaiden Schelling and Lilly Lemesany; Website Design, Kelsie Schelling and Emily Anderson; Graphic Design, Torrie Wernsman; Electronic Career Portfolio, Samantha Seger.

National qualifiers are looking forward to the National Conference this summer.
