Bamford signs to play softball with NW Kansas Technical College

A successful four-year high school softball career has afforded Fallon Bamford the opportunity to compete at the collegiate level next fall. Bamford, recent Haxtun High School graduate, signed a letter of intent to join the softball team at Northwest Kansas Technical College in front of family, coaches and supporters two week ago.

Fallon was a part of the Holyoke High School softball team throughout high school, playing outfield for the Lady Dragons. As a senior, she helped lead her team to the 2023 3A State Softball Tournament. The Lady Dragons finished with an overall 12-12 record.

"Fallon's speed and overall athleticism on the field are what instantly caught my eye when recruiting," said Bailey Honne, Head Softball Coach at Northwest Kansas Technical College. "She brings enthusiasm for the sport that our team is going to need next season. As a vocal teammate she will help lead the infield via her communication skills."

In her senior season, Fallon earned a .478 batting average and a .562 on base percentage. She registered 32 hits, 22 runs-batted-in and tallied 29 runs. She also boasts a .950 fielding percentage. Fallon was a captain for the Lady Dragons last season.

Throughout her four years on the field, Fallon registered 52 hits, 41 RBIs and 51 runs with a four-year fielding average of .902. Her high school batting average comes in at .325.

While playing softball at Northwest Kansas Technical College, Fallon plans to study precision ag.

She is the daughter of Chad and Amy Bamford, Haxtun, and the granddaughter of Kent and Naida, Haxtun, Ruby McLamb, Hudson, and Mike Bradley, Haxtun.

"I see Fallon working hard to earn a spot in the middle infield next season for us," Honne said. "Fallon's work ethic, in game knowledge and her enthusiasm will help our program compete at a higher level in our conference next season."
