FLEMING Mayor Sue Einspahr cuts the ribbon, or in this case, the toilet paper, to the Town's new sewer pond project during afternoon events at the Fleming Fall Festival last week. The new sewer project came to fruition when old lagoons, located in the flood plain, were discharging into local groundwater. The project, totaling over $3 million, became possible with grant funds from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and the United States Department of Agriculture as well as low and no interest loans. Town of Fleming residents pay an additional $30 on their utility bills for the next 40 years to help cover the cost, a small price for a $3 million price tag, Einspahr said Saturday.
