Fleming Wildcat student-athletes earn All-Conference accolades

Eleven Fleming Wildcat student athletes earned All-Conference accolades following the early completion of this year's basketball season.

The Lady Wildcat team finished their season at the 1A State Tournament. They competed in the opening round of the Tournament before the Colorado High School Activities Association shut play down due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Five members of the squad earned All-Conference designations after finishing 21-3 on the season.

Junior Kendyl Kirkwood, the eldest member of the Lady Wildcat team, earned All-Conference for her contribution as a forward this year. She brought down 295 rebounds this season, averaging 12.3 boards per game. On offense, Kirkwood tallied 437 points; an average of 18.2 points per game. Following the completion of the season, the Lady Wildcat Basketball Facebook page also announced that Kirkwood was selected for the All-State, First Team.

Whitney Chintala, a sophomore guard for the Lady Wildcats, was selected for All-Conference as well as the All-State, First Team. Chintala tallied 411 points for her squad on offense this year more than doubling her career points. She made 100 steals averaging 4.5 steals per game and led the group in assists with 91.

Sophomore Zoey Vandenbark started on the varsity squad as a guard this season. Her All-Conference designation came following 144 points on offense averaging six points per game. She made 57 steals over the course of the season - an average of 2.4 per game.

Kally Kirkwood, starting freshman, earned All-Conference honors. Prior to a knee injury 19 games into the season, she scored 192 points; an average of 10.1 points per game. Kally spent much of her debut season under the net with her older sister. She grabbed 97 total rebounds for the year - averaging 5.1 boards per game. Her stats also boasted 85 assists as well as 74 steals.

Sophomore Sam Pope was selected for All-Conference, Honorable Mention. The Lady Wildcat guard tallied 51 points on the year, grabbed 73 rebounds and made 24 steals.

The Wildcat boys' team qualified six players for All-Conference status. The team went 13-7 on the season after falling short of Regionals with a first round District loss to Peetz.

Dylan Nolde, a starting senior forward on the team, earned All-Conference. In his final season in Wildcat green, Nolde scored 191 points for a 10.1 point-per-game average. Under the net, he brought down 171 boards for an average of nine rebounds per game.

Guard Eric Resendiz was chosen for All-Conference accolades for his contribution in his senior season. Resendiz tallied 135 points on the season; an average of 7.1 points per game. He averaged 3.2 rebounds per game with 61 total boards for the year. He also took 64 steals and made 55 assists.

Whitney Chintala

Brandon Williams, a senior guard, earned an All-Conference designation. He averaged 9.8 points per game with a season total of 187 points. Williams brought down 134 rebounds; a game average of 7.1 boards per game.

Junior Kade Comstock earned All-Conference for his contribution as the Wildcat point guard. Comstock added 199 points for the Wildcats across the season - an average of 10.5 points per game. He brought down 84 rebounds and assisted with 50 shots while making 51 steals for the year.

Senior Daniel Dobson was chosen for All-Conference, Honorable Mention. Dobson spent his season under the net averaging four points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Braylen Feather, a freshman guard on the squad, was chosen for All-Conference, Honorable Mention. Feather averaged 7.2 points per game off a season tally of 136. He grabbed 1.2 boards per game and averaged one assist per game.
