Haxtun FFA members earn honors at State Conventions

HAXTUN FFA members Brock Miller and Dusty Anderson. Miller recently received a bronze medal in the State Creed Speaking Contest while Anderson received his State FFA Degree.

Over the past week, Colorado State FFA Conventions occurred in three locations across the State.

BROOKLYN Plumb recently sat on the State Nominating Committee tasked with selecting the next team of State FFA Officers. She also received recognition with a gold medal in Prepared Public Speaking and received her State FFA Degree.

In Sterling, Brock Miller was recognized for being bronze in the Creed Speaking contest, where he had to recite all five paragraphs of the FFA Creed and answer questions. Also, Dusty Anderson received his State FFA Degree, which is the highest degree that a member can receive at the State level.

Finally, Brooklyn Plumb had a busy week as she traveled to Pueblo on Sunday, June 6 to be a part of the State Nominating Committee, which is the team of members that selects the next slate of Colorado State FFA Officers.

Over the week, she attended trainings and interviewed all of the State officer candidates, culminating in long hours of deliberations to decide the next State officer team. Last Friday in Pueblo, she was recognized for being Gold in Prepared Public Speaking and also received her State Degree.
