The Fleming Lady Wildcats have moved up in Colorado High School Activities Association rankings to the number three spot. Last week the squad dropped to the fourth slot, but a win over Peetz last week gave them an edge over Dove Creek who dropped to number four. The top two slots are currently held by Merino and McClave.

Fleming swept Peetz in last Saturday’s league contest on the road, 25-6, 25-11 and 25-13; putting them at 12-2 on the year and 5-0 in their league.

Junior Madi Serrato made a stellar performance from behind the service line at Peetz. On 31 serve attempts, she put over 12 aces.

Senior Kally Kirkwood led the Lady Wildcat offense at the net with 15 kills. Freshman Quincy Stull added another five for the team.

Senior Laney Schliesser put up top numbers from the back row in digs and serve receives. She led in both categories with eight and 15, respectively.

Kirkwood and freshman Brooke Schaefer followed Schliesser’s dig tally with four apiece. Senior Lexi Schaefer followed on serve receive with seven ups.

Senior Maddy Harms earned Fleming’s lone block of the day. She tacked on one in the solo block column.

The Lady Wildcats are set to return to their home court for Friday/Saturday matches this week. They open on Friday with a league contest against the Weldon Valley Lady Warriors. The two teams met in early-September on Weldon Valley’s court where Fleming earned a sweep. The Lady Warriors stood at 6-8 overall and 2-2 in their league as of press time according to MaxPreps. The site lists a 4 p.m. starting time for matches on that day.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, the Lady Wildcats are scheduled to host the Simla Lady Cubs in non-league action. Simla owns a 12-4 overall record and a 1-0 league record according to MaxPreps. They hold the number seven spot in this week’s CHSAA rankings. Matches on Saturday are scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
