ALIYAH ENGLE, a 105-pound senior, pinned Maddie Hoelrle of Ogallala in 4:15. She pinned all three of her opponents at the Garden County Invitational last weekend and was the 105-pound Champion. This was Engle's first championship and being the team's first ever girls' championship.
The Sedgwick County/Fleming boys and girls wrestlers all traveled to Oshkosh, Neb. to participate in the Garden County Invitational. This was their first competition since Dec. 9, 2022 in Southern Valley. The boys were scheduled to go to Wray and the girls to Sutherland, Neb. on Dec. 17, but didn't make the trips due to the weather.
Both teams performed well in their first competitions of the new year. The girls finished in 8th place out of 16 teams and earned their first individual champion with Alyiah Engle winning the 105-pound weight division. The boys finished in 2nd place out of 22 teams...
