Lois Orth

Lois Orth of Haxtun died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 24, 2023.

Lois was born to Ralph and Berneice (Smith) Frank of Dailey on May 19, 1940. She lived southeast of Dailey and attended elementary school there along with sisters Charlotte (Bob) Cunningham and Doris (Larry) Barkley, later graduating from Fleming High School with the Class of 1958. Lois married Larry Orth on Jan. 16, 1960 and the young couple proudly made Haxtun their home. While her children were young, Lois was a homemaker and did miscellaneous jobs from home to help support the family, later taking full-time employment at KN Energy until it closed. She went to work as a bookkeeper in December of 1982 at Haxtun Community Bank and served over 40 years before retiring in April 2023.

Gardening, cooking, baking, attending school games/activities, community events and family gatherings all brought her great pleasure. She was involved in the Sirens (Fireman's Auxiliary), Bulldog Booster Club and a member of the Haxtun Methodist Church.

Lois is survived by her children Lori Lundgren, Haxtun, Jim and wife Susan, Fort Collins, Linda and husband Oliver Turman, Allen, Texas, and Julie Brown, Haxtun; grandchildren Sara and husband Mark Grauberger, Jessica and husband Mike Werner, Derek and wife Torrie Lundgren, Courtney and husband Trevor Johnson, Isaiah Turman, Christian and wife Taylor Kline-Turman, Genesis and husband Tyler Watts, Megan Brown, Molly Brown, Austin and wife Kendy Orth, and Tanner and fiancée Maddy Orth; and great-grandchildren Max, Mason, Lainey, Jack, Jace, Clyde and Ezra.
