On July 16-17 the Haxtun FFA chapter officers took a trip up to Fort Collins for their annual officer retreat. This year's team consists of nine officers that were chosen at the end of May by last year's retiring senior officers.

The 2023-2024 Haxtun FFA officers include: Brock Miller, President, Cassidy Goddard, Vice President, Braden Plumb, Secretary, Megan Walker, Treasurer, Kelsie Hadeen, Reporter, Mason Bornhoft, Sentinel, Bobbi Starkebaum, Historian, and Kinsley Koberstein and Chase Goddard, Executive Committee Members.

The team left around 10 a.m. on the 16 from the ag shop, arriving in Fort Collins around noon where they went to HuHot's Mongolian Grill for lunch. After a little bit of shopping and ice cream, the group began their team building activities in the local park. Officers got to know each other better by stating one fact that no one knew about them; this fun exercise led to better conversations and plenty of funny stories. They then ended the night with a movie and an FFA favorite, Torchy's Tacos, for supper.

Monday morning, officers left the hotel bright and early for a 5 a.m. sunrise hike to Arthur's Rock above Horsetooth Reservoir. After several hours of hiking and exploring the views, they made the trek back down the mountain to the van. Officers then headed to Colorado State University CoBank Center for Ag Education to continue the training part of the trip. Mr. Plumb went over roles of each office and the requirements and responsibility that each new officer would have to take on. After a quick lunch break they got back to work going over committees, new ideas for the coming year and developing their leadership skills together.

The new officers are looking forward to another successful year for the chapter. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to any of the officers or Mr. Plumb for more information.
