Two talents set to take Corn Festival stage on Sept. 30

THE EMMETT BROWER Band returns to Haxtun for the second time. They will headline the 101st Corn Festival concert.

Evening entertainment returns for the annual Corn Festival celebration slated for the last Saturday in September in downtown Haxtun. This year's event will feature performances by Shooter Jaxx and The Emmett Bower Band. Gates open on Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m.

Shooter Jaxx will kick things off in downtown Haxtun on Saturday evening. The group, who formed in 2018, debuted their first album, Cabin Fever, in the spring of 2019. The Shooter Jaxx group offers a unique fusion of country and rock music. Honey Whiskey Lips, the groups newest single, released in 2021.

Returning to Haxtun for their second Corn Festival performance is The Emmett Bower Band from Lincoln, Neb. The rock influenced alternative country band performed at the 99th annual Corn Festival in 2020.

According to the group's website, The Emmett Bower Band plays nearly 100 shows per year, touring the nation - even playing shows in country music strongholds like Nashville and Austin. The band has shared the stage with amazing talent, such as Randy Rogers Band, Roger Creager, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, Bart Crow, Jackson Taylor, Gloriana, Sonia Leigh, No Justice, Thomas Rhett, Jon Pardi, Frankie Ballard, Logan Mize, Casey Donahue, Aaron Watson, Whiskey Myers and many others.

The band's catalog of music currently consists of four self- produced albums under the "It's A Party Records" record label (the bands own label). Songs such as "Never Let it Go," "Single for the Summer," "The Way She Danced," "Before She's Gone," "You saved me," "Chasin' the Sun," "Tumbleweed" and "Main Attraction" have been played on radio stations in Nebraska, Kansas and Tennessee in regular rotation. Their latest album was nominated for 2018 Album of the Year and lead vocal performer Jeff Bower was nominated for Songwriter of the Year by the Rocky Mountain Country Music Awards.

SHOOTER JAXX is set to open this year's Corn Festival concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.

Possessing a wealth of stage experience and a deep catalog of music, the four members have honed their live performance to accommodate larger venues, dance halls, street dances, rodeos, weddings and festivals. The band takes pride in writing original music their own way. Currently the boys are writing music for their fourth album.

Tickets for performances at the 101st annual Haxtun Corn Festival are on sale now and are available at welcometohaxtun.com as well as at the Haxtun Town Hall and the Haxtun Community Federal Credit Union. Ticket prices for the all-ages concert are $25 during presale and $30 day of performance.

Tickets may also be obtained through sponsorship packages. Mailers recently sent to all Haxtun residents contain sponsorship package information for this year's event.
