REBECCA ENSMINGER purchased the local flower store, now called Every Bloomin' Thing on July 1. She plans to continue all the same florist services the community has known over the past three decades with the hopes to expand the business with other possibilities later down the road.

For more than three decades the Haxtun community has been accustomed to beautiful flowers with impeccable detail and florist Rebecca Ensminger plans to continue that tradition in her new business venture, Every Bloomin' Thing.

Rebecca and husband Mike Ensminger purchased The Country Rose from Marilyn Michael on July 1.

The new name, Rebecca says, pays homage to previous owner Marilyn Michael while adding in her own touch to the name. Rebecca said Marilyn had wanted to use the name Every Bloomin' Thing when she first opened the shop 37 years ago but decided on The County Rose instead.

"It just fits my personality and pays tribute to her," Rebecca said.

Rebecca said she has always wanted to own her own business and over the past few years she has been exploring that possibility but nothing seemed to fit just right. That is, until Marilyn approached her about the local flower shop.

"The last year has thrown some unexpected things our way and my health has become something I have to put first now," Marilyn said recently in announcing the sale of her business to Mike and Rebecca. "I wish to let all my customers know how much I have appreciated their support. I have so enjoyed being a part of your life events and celebrations. It has been an honor to help many of you honor your loved ones over the years."

Rebecca especially wants the Haxtun community to know she will provide the same quality flower shop as it's used to, while also adding her touch to things. While the florist position will be new to Rebecca, she said Marilyn has agreed to stay on and help out part time, especially in the beginning of the transition.

"Marilyn is my experience, but I love being creative, so I think I will do OK," Rebecca said in learning the floral part of the business.

In her first few days as a business owner, Rebecca closed the shop doors while she painted, arranged and set up for opening, which took place on Tuesday, July 6.

For the first week, she said customers will only be able to pay by cash or check while she awaits the arrival of a new register system. Rebecca also plans to host a grand opening during Haxtun's Old-Fashioned Saturday Night, July 17.

In addition to the flower shop and small gifts, Rebecca's mother, Crissa Larson, will also have space in Every Bloomin' Thing. Larson, who owns Junk Junky, will have antiques, refurbished furniture, home trend decor and other items available in the store front, located at 121 South Colorado Avenue in Haxtun. The mother-daughter duo plan to add more inventory moving forward.

Every Bloomin' Thing will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will offer delivery services inside city limits. Customers can stop by the shop or call (970) 774-7233 to place orders. Every Bloomin' Thing can also be found on Facebook and Instagram.
