Bradley Michael

Bradley James Michael passed away on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022 in Haxtun at the age of 64.

Brad was born Feb. 18, 1958 in Haxtun to Leonard and Donna Michael. He attended and graduated from Haxtun High School in 1976. While attending Northeastern Junior College, he met his future wife, Deb May McCoin. He graduated in 1978 with an Ag Business degree. They were wed March 1, 1980 in Stratton and made their home northeast of Haxtun.

Brad continued farming and ranching, working hard through the good times and the bad times to support his family. In 1984 the couple was blessed with their first child, Andrea Kay, on Jan. 29. A second child, Aaron Lee, was born to them Jan. 20, 1987. They completed their family with the birth of a third child, Alan Austin, on May 31, 1996.

He was a self-employed farmer for the majority of his life with his wife and kids by his side. He served on many boards including NRCS Board, Grainland Board, Paoli Co-op Board and Western Phillips County Cemetery Board.

Brad lived by a strong faith and was active in the Fairfield Covenant Church and Berean Bible Church in Haxtun. His greatest joys were his grandchildren. He loved to attend all their events. He loved family get togethers and attending community functions.

Brad is survived by his sister Vicki and husband Rex Benson, Sterling; children Andrea and husband Hazen Schlachter, Holyoke, Aaron and wife Elizabeth Michael, Haxtun, and Alan and wife Kimberlee Michael, Haxtun; grandchildren Nicole, Ryan and Meredith Schlachter and Colton Michael; brother-in-law Jim and wife Lori McCoin, Castle Rock; niece Cori McCoin; and nephew Kellen McCoin, Castle Rock.

He is preceded in death by his wife Deb Michael; parents Leonard and Donna Michael; in-laws Richard and Nova Joy Blancken; cousin George Michael and many aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held on March 5 at the Haxtun Community Center. Interment followed at the Fairfield Cemetery.

Baucke Funeral Home handled arrangements.
