Letter to the Editor

Each year, during the holiday season, you may have noticed a Christmas tree in the lobby of the Points West Bank. On the tree each ornament honors a special person. Those we love who have passed away are closer to our thoughts and hearts at this special time of year and an ornament celebrating their memory, no matter when they passed, is a way to honor their lives and celebrate the promise brought by the babe born in the manger.

Hospice of the Plains has served this area for 26 years and is a wonderful resource for those who are dying and their families as they go through the mourning process. When you donate any amount to Hospice of the Plains, it provides an ornament which hangs on the tree until after Christmas and then becomes a part of your ornament collection.

This year, the tree will be up by Nov. 29. It would be great to see the tree filled to overflowing with ornaments on Christmas Shopping Night. If you would like to participate and honor someone, just pick up a form at either Points West Bank or at Haxtun Supers and mail to Hospice of the Plains in Sterling. Thank you for considering a remembrance of someone special to you and a donation to this worthwhile organization.

Diane Fryrear,

Haxtun
