Julie Thayer is due back in a Phillips County courtroom this month. Just eight months after being sentenced on charges of child abuse, Thayer is set to appear in Phillips County Court, this time on 17 new charges including identity theft, forgery and criminal impersonation.

According to documents filed on Nov. 9 in Phillips County District Court, Thayer has been charged with three counts of identity theft, each class four felonies, 12 counts of forgery, all class five felonies, and two counts of criminal impersonation, each a class six felony.

Last April, Thayer appeared in front of Judge Kim Killin in Phillips County Court to be sentenced on original charges of child abuse and assault stemming from an incident at a daycare facility in Haxtun in which Thayer served as the Director at the time.

Thayer and her council reached a plea agreement with the 13th District Attorney’s Office in that case in which she pled guilty to one of two original counts of child abuse. She received two years supervised probation including anger management and mental health support education, and 40 hours of useful public service as well as a $250 fine.

Thayer is set for an advisement hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. on the 17 new charges filed in Phillips County District Court.
