    Julie Thayer’s January court appearance was brief. The 42-year-old Haxtun resident appeared in Phillips County District Court for a second time on charges of identity theft, forgery and criminal impersonation. And for the second time, the case has been set over for a hearing on advisement for another 30 days.     Phillips County, along with the Division of Fire Prevention and Control, is attempting to utilize the Holyoke airport as a water refill station for Single Engine Air Tankers in the event of a large fire requiring State assistance. In order to accomplish this, volunteers are needed to attend a half day training and be willing to be contacted in the event the State is providing aircraft to assist with a local fire.     The Sedgwick County/Fleming wrestlers completed in their final week of the regular season traveling to Greeley where the boys dualed Dayspring Christian and the girls dualed Greeley West on Friday, Feb. 3. The boys’ team lost their dual by a score of 42-30, but did give up 24 points to open weights on the night. The girls won their three-women dual 12-6.     Helen Elaine (Hebbel) Gibbs passed away peacefully in her rural farmhouse outside Haxtun, as she wished, with her daughters by her side on Jan. 29, 2023 at the age of 88. Helen was born to Heinrich (Henry) Wilhelm and Ethel Flossie (Skinner) Hebbel in Peetz on Dec. 5, 1934. Helen's childhood was full of adventure growing up at the foot of Lewis Canyons. She fearlessly explored every nook and cranny of the canyons on horseback often taking a lunch and staying all day. She had many pets including...
